Dressage Tests
(Paintings)
Halt at X
You know how it feels when you nail that perfect halt
and salute the judge at the end of a perfect test? Well,
neither do I, but we can dream can't we?
These little paintings (about 7" x 3")
commemorate those dreams. Here is an accurately scaled
dressage ring, the rider has just halted at the end of
the test. You can clearly see how well the test went;
should get at least a 70.
Individually painted, matted in the horse's barn
colors to fit a standard 9" x 12" frame, these
paintings are made to order for $25.00 plus S&H and
applicable sales tax. (frame is not included) Each
painting is an original. Select from any published USDF
or FEI dressage test. Choose a test you've ridden well or
one you dream about riding well. Specify your horse's
color and barn colors. Send me an e-mail for more
information.
Halt at G
The idea for these paintings came about while I was
trying to memorize tests for a show. Being a visual
thinker, I found it easier to remember if I visualized
the course of the test. I drew out the path on a scaled
plan of a dressage ring to help me visualize the process
of riding the test. Besides helping me remember the
tests, these sketches were also visually intriguing.
A good source for information about the dressage ring
and test figures on the net, see Dressage
Ring Geometry, which is part of the Halt @ X web
